30x30cm art print on high quality brilliant white 100% recycled art board.
After the Six Day War in 1967, Israel banned Palestinians from publicly displaying their national flag, or even just it's four colours; red, white, black and green. Brave activists defied the authorities by using watermelons, with their similar colouring, to display their national identity with pride.
I made this artwork in 2021 to honour those activists, who faced imprisonment (or worse) for even publicly carrying a slice of watermelon. I've updated the design in 2023 in response to the escalating horror in Gaza. The watermelon pips are now the tears of children.
Royal Mail shipping costs are ridiculous on individual items. Significant shipping savings if you order multiple items at the same time. Especially if you're outside the UK.
